About Plastic Energy

The use of plastics has increased twentyfold in the past half-century and is expected to double in the
next 20 years.

Plastic Energy is leading the way into a future of better quality synthetic second generation fuels and products and plastic2plastic produced from non-recyclable plastic waste, putting as much as possible of the $300 billion worth of plastic dumped in landfills each year, to good use.

Through chemical recycling we process real end of life plastics (ELP) from domestic wastes not industrial ELP which is single stream and clean.

Every day more than one million tonnes of plastic are produced worldwide

95%

Headquarters

Our Technology HQ is in the UK and we have chemical recycling plants in Seville and Almeria, Spain - the latter operational since 2014 - that can produce up to 19,000 litres of hydrocarbon fuel from 20 tonnes of plastic feedstock as well as converting plastic2plastic.'

If the UK, for example, was to divert the 1.2 million tonnes of plastic waste it currently sends to landfill it could produce 840 million litres of diesel.

We want to drive the adoption of the circular economy.

The Circular Economy

We want to drive the adoption of the circular economy – where oil is used to make plastics and the waste plastic is turned back into synthetic products – by expanding globally, targeting the Americas, Europe, Australia and Asia, where the TAC process will be used for the first time.

By doing this we’ll create employment, reduce dependence on imported energy, dramatically improve the environment and, ultimately, the well-being of the planet.
